Italian poker pro Marco Leonzio was actually in the real estate business for a number of years before he swapped houses for cards in 2007. He began accumulating a bankroll by playing cash games but over time gravitated towards tournaments as his capital increased and the hope of winning a huge score became possible.

Marco is a regular on the European circuit and frequented EPT events between 2010 and 2016. During this period, he won a title and reached a total of nine EPT final tables. His victory came in 2016 at the EPT Dublin stop where Leonzio took down the €500 No Limit Hold’em Hyper-Turbo.

His largest score to date actually came as a result of an extremely deep run that he made at the €5,000 EPT Prague Main Event back in 2010. His fifth-place finish earned the Italian $171,880 after he got past a strong line-up of names featuring Tobias Reinkemeier and multiple-time bracelet winner Kevin MacPhee.

In addition to his EPT successes, Leonzio has also won an IPT trophy after triumphing at the 2012 €1,000 NLH event in San Remo.
