Marko Neumann

Despite having never won a major life tournament, Neumann is still one of the top Omaha players out there.

Even to a poker pro, poker can’t be everything. Few people embody that idea more than Marko Neumann. Despite having never won a major life tournament, Neumann is still one of the top Omaha players out there.

The German born player now lives in Malta, where he laments the desire of other players to live in town when the beaches on the mediterranean island are so beautiful. From his island paradise he either sallies out to the major tournament events or grinds away online.

His biggest wins include a runner-up finish in the $1,000 PLO event at the 2015 WSOP and a 5th place finish in the $10,000 PLO event the year before that. He also has a number of big hold’em final tables including a couple of EPT main events and an EPT high-roller.

All in all this adds up to live tournament winnings of $1,889,537 nearing the end of 2017. However, he is primarily an online player, playing on PokerStars as BriDge2PaiN, and as Excellence_ on Party Poker or SonnyBlack87 on Full Tilt Poker.

In 2016 he finally took the first he was hunting for, winning the SCOOP #32-H the $5,200 PLO 6-max event. That win of $216,000 put it in his top 5 cashes ever.

Despite his success at the tables, he tries to maintain a rather zen attitude to all of it. In an interview with PokerStars after his SCOOP win he talked about how life coaching (prompted by his serendipitous dating of a life-coach) is one of his priorities.

So too are the Koi which he breeds in a pond he built himself.
