Equally known for his poker skills and his escapades off the green felt, German pro Martin Finger is a very colorful person. Born in 1989 in Frankenberg, he started studying Business Science and stumbled upon the poker along the way. He started off with small, friendly home games, but not long after he has discovered virtual felt and became a force to be reckoned with. Known online as “0Piggybank”, he established his presence in the world of high stakes HU SNGs. With a lot of dedication and volume, he managed to achieve the Supernova Elite status on Pokerstars. After he started playing more on the live circuit, he has quickly become known for his love for the nightlife and his inclination for incidents. He got himself arrested during the 2011 EPT London event when he went on to break into a restaurant looking for some food after the night of partying. In 2012 he punched the former World champion Jonathan Duhamel after they were together in the club celebrating Duhamel’s score in the 2012 PCA High Roller event. Luckily the fight did not escalate further as the bouncers got involved, and according to Finger, although he is peaceful, Duhamel had it coming. What really happened between the two is somewhat uncertain. But the incidents notwithstanding, Martin Finger made a series of noticeable results in live tournaments. He seized the EPT title in the 2011 Prague Main Event, together with nearly $950,000 in prize money. After this score, there was a year-long break without any huge scores, just to start the 2013 with the bang. He came runner up in one of the preliminary events during the Aussie Millions, banking nearly $170k. In June, he travelled to Vegas, where he got to seize his first bracelet in the $3k NLH 6-max event and more than $500k first prize money. To top it all off, in October he went on to win EPT / UK & Ireland Poker Tour High Roller event for the impressive $1,330,000. His overall cashes amount to nearly $3.9 million, and with two EPT titles and bracelet already to his name, he is only a WPT victory away from the Triple Crown. Although his online results are not tracked since he does not play a lot of online MTTs, it is probably a safe guess that he is doing quite well for himself there as well. Finger currently sits in the 9th place for the Germany All Time Money List and is ranked 163rd on the global All Time Money List. If he manages to continue his run from the end of the last year in 2014, all of these numbers are bound to become much better.
