Samuel Chartier

Samuel Chartier is one of the top Canadian professionals on the poker circuit , and one of the few Canadians who somehow never looks friendly in any of his photos – no matter how many chips are stacked in front of him a slight frown and furrowed brow are all he ever shows.

That poker face has done well by him though. Since 2007 when he had his first major cash (43rd in the Borgata Winter Open for $826) he’s been on a roll. After a few more score’s he struck it big in 2009 with his first outright win, taking down first place in the $5,000 No Limit Championship event on the WSOP circuit in Caesar’s Palace, Atlantic City back in 2009. That set him up with $322,944 and a lot of confidence.

Since then he’s raked in over $2.8million dollars in tournament winnings along with a number of impressive titles, and a slew of final table appearances. At the start of 2017 he broke the top 30 Canadian money winners and is 406th on the Hendon Mob’s all time money list as at 11th May 2017.

He’s on his way up and he’s taking the maple leaf with him.
