Jazayeri took up poker as way to blow off steam.

The 2012 WPT L.A. Poker Classic Main Event was an impressive final table Jason Somerville hot off his WSOP win last year was there, so was High Roller Event specialist Noah Schwartz. Two time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Kelly was there, and tournament specialist David Sands. But it was Californian Sean Jazayeri, pretty much the underdog at a table like that who carried the day.

After completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Irvine and a postgrad in Business Management, Jazayeri took up poker as way to blow off steam.

The win at the L.A. Poker Classic remains his biggest live cash, though he has gone on to final table in events on every major tour: the EPT, the WSOP, the WPT and the PCA. He had yet to get another cash over five figures though.

Even so, he made an impressive showing at the 2016 WSOP with three top 20 finishes in large field, low buy-in Hold’em events demonstrating that he is a force to recon with at the tables. Not bad for an amateur poker player who makes his real living as a ‘Project Management Executive’, in his hometown of Irvine, California.
