Chicago resident Tyler Reiman began playing poker whilst at school. By the age of 20, he was ranked in the top 0.01% of online tournament players after making more than $450,000 on PokerStars alone in 2007. His combined winnings from this arena and live total to well over $5 million.
Reiman’s breakout year came in 2010 when he was just 23 years old. This was largely off the back of a life-changing score he earned at the start of the year when he finished runner-up at the $10,000 PCA No Limit Hold’em Main Event. The American earned $1,750,000 after outlasting all but one of the 1,528 other entrants. Among the in-the-money finishers were Dan Smith, Igor Kurganov, Greg Merson, Phil Ivey and Nick Petrangelo. It’s fair to say that coming second in a line-up this competitive is no easy task.
In the summer of the same year, Tyler won the biggest title in online poker – the Sunday Million. He shipped it back in the heyday of the event when it had a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool, earning him an impressive $228,150 in his largest online score to date. This win contributed to his 2010 earnings on PokerStars which exceeded $700,000. Also with a UBOC title to his name as ‘KEEFKING420’, Reiman has arguably accomplished more in the online arena than the live one.
Now a WPT and HPT champion as well, the American still plays poker full-time today. He is passionate about music and also has taken an interest in cryptocurrency investment – something that has caught the attention of many in his field.
