Turning poker from a hobby to a lifestyle, William Reynolds came up in the game by playing at the cash tables on PokerStars under the screenname ‘Altrum Altus’. He started out at the modest $0.25/$0.50 tables and built up a bankroll large enough to play $10/$20 online. His reputation as a strong cash game player earned him an invite to the popular Big Game cash game TV show, where Reynolds appeared alongside a particularly dynamic line-up that included Tony G, Daniel Negreanu, Lex Veldhuis and Andrew Robl. He walked away with $53,000 in profits over just 150 hands – certainly not a bad hourly rate.

Reynolds also plays tournaments – both live and online. His biggest live result came in 2010 when he shipped the NAPT $25,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller event at Paradise Island for $576,240. No stranger to playing in high stakes games amongst tough competition, the Iowa-born talent triumphed over the likes of Tobias Reinkemeier, Joe Cada and Greg Raymer to take the trophy. He also made the final table of the 2009 EPT €5,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event in Sanremo, finishing in fourth for $493,733. Reynolds also has a further three EPT cashes to his name, two WPT scores and fifteen in-the-money finishes at WSOP events, making him an internationally successful tournament player.

His online MTT earnings combined with his live tournament winnings make for a total which exceeds $3,500,000. Given all of his success in cash games, it is fair to assume that Reynold’s overall profits from poker are even higher than this number. In an interview with Tatjana Pasalic in 2012, he spoke fondly of the cash game scene in Macau and expressed a desire to live there to play in the live games. More recently, Reynolds has returned to the capital of poker in Las Vegas and still plays live tournaments and online on US-only sites.

He’s partaken in poker commentary roles in the past, notably commentating for season 7 of the European Poker Tour. Outside of the game, he has a keen eye for photography and regularly posts impressive shots he’s captured on his Instagram page.
