When Mustapha Kanit lifted the €10K buy-in high roller in Barcelona over the weekend, it continued a fantastic run in 2015 for the Italian and propelled him to top spot in the country’s all-time live earnings.

Banking a cool €738,759 ($834.303) for his latest EPT victory, Kanit leap-frogged Max Pescatori at the head of Italy’s money list and has left other well-known names such as Luca Pagano and Dario Mineri in his wake.

With 6 final tables to his name this year alone, Kanit’s live earnings of $4,629,838 now exceed his impressive online earnings of $4,170,036 where he plays under the moniker ‘Lasagnaaammm’.

The Barcelona €10K had attracted a record 401 entries and saw over 100 re-buys, adding up to a €5m prize-pool. When Kanit and fellow final-tablers Kuljinder Sidhu and Nick Petrangelo agreed a deal when 3-handed, they had already seen off a slew of top-level challengers including Johnny Lodden, Martin Finger (who picked up the €25K high-roller title in Barcelona) and Mike McDonald.

The victory in Barcelona came on the back of another massive win for Kanit, the Monte Carlo €50K Super High Roller title in May for his biggest single win of €738,759 ($834,303) and the Italian now sits at an impressive 151st on the overall All Time Money List.
