India's Online Poker Room Introduces Team Thrill

Thrill Poker, online poker site based in India that launched less than a year ago, has now come out with an updated software package and new team of sponsored pros. Pro team, called Team Thrill India, includes India’s top rated tournament players.

Team Thrill India already had its first tournament success when Haresh Kukreja took down the opening event at the recent APT Manila festival. Vedika Oberoi, Head of Strategy at Thrill Poker Network said that the team is setting up an example for people in India with their skills and passion for the game, while at the same time promoting poker in India.

Haresh Kukreja, former stock broker from Mumbai, first discovered poker on Facebook. Up to date, his notable wins include HK $4,500 event at Macau Poker Cup 2014 where he finished in second place and the HK $15,000 APPT event where he finished in 7th place.

Danish Shaikh from Goa is another team member who had first started playing poker on Zynga and fell in love with the game. He has been playing professionally for the last three years and has close to dozen final tables under his belt. His biggest win came from the virtual tables, when he took down TCOOP Main Event on PokerStars in 2014.

Shail Agarwal, well known to the poker community in India, is also part of Team Thrill India. His notable wins include the recent win at the Tilt Series 10K event and Rio Daily $235 event during WSOP where he finished in fourth place.

India’s top rated tournament players who are members of the Team are Jasven Saigal, Dhaval Mudgal and Shravan Chhabria.

Poker is very popular in India and his popularity continues to grow so as the current number of players at Thrill Poker site. The leading site for skill based games in India also offers Rummy to its customers.

PokerStars first ever sponsorship deal with Indian poker player proved that poker is growing industry in the second most populated country in the world. Aditya Agarwal, who has won almost $400,000 in live tournaments is now PokerStars Team pro. Aditya, who has been playing on PokerStars since 2014, hopes that he will inspire more people in India to play and enjoy poker.

Poker is legal in India thanks to the Indian Supreme Court that came to the rescue of poker players, ruling that poker is game of skill.
