Full Tilt Fully Licensed in Denmark

Full Tilt received a license from Danish Gambling Authority to operate in Denmark, giving opportunity to Danish poker and casino players to access Full Tilt’s global player base.

As it was announced in the press release from yesterday residents of Denmark and Greenland now have a chance to play on Full Tilt against players from around the world. This has been the second time that Full Tilt, which was relaunched under new ownership of Rational Group that operates PokerStars, was granted a license under Amaya.

In 2012, 2013 and 2014 Rational Companies in UK and Isle of Man won a recognition as one of the best workplaces in the world.

The sister brand of Full Tilt, PokerStars, was awarded a Danish license in December 2011 and has operated under the license since the beginning of 2012.

Full Tilt and Poker Stars, both owned by Canadian Amaya gaming, were issued licenses by the UK Gambling Commission earlier this year.

Denmark’s online gambling market has been success since beginning of 2012 when Act nr. 848 of 2010 on Gambling came into force, liberalizing much of the market. The Danish Gambling Authority has licensed 25 operators in the first year of the new law being in effect, including 888 and Bwin. However the government is preventing unlicensed foreign sites from soliciting Danish players so they have blacklisted 57 gambling websites in 2012.

Denmark Gambling Authority has reported in 2014 that online gaming operators garnered $400m in gross gaming revenue. While both online and land-based operators are required to pay 20 per cent of the gross gambling revenue weekly, Amaya still sees huge potential in Denmark Gambling market.
