The trip to Atlantic City has paid off for Frank Baffy Jr. despite of breaking even at the tables as he was able to avoid jail thanks to the simple fact he was gambling in the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.

Frank Baffy Jr. made one of the luckiest choices of his life when he decided to take a trip with his fiancée and daughter to Atlantic City. After a violent mugging on April 30, the victim identified him as the perpetrator by name, so the police was pretty much sure that Baffy was guilty. The victim claimed that Frank hit him with the glass Snapple Bottle and stole his Ipad and watch in Carroll Gardens.

Even though Frank enjoyed the trip with his family at the time of robbery, police refused to investigate his alibi. According to Frank’s lawyer, detectives told him that he had to be put through legal system and that he was required to show up at the Brooklyn station to surrender.

Frank could have been locked up at that moment because police was convinced that he was the guilty party, without even a proper investigation.

However, when detectives and officers saw Post reporter and photographer outside the station, they have finally decided to investigate his alibi, probably fearing that the media would crucify them if they made a mistake. They contacted the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to check Frank’s claims.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement checked Golden Nugget records and pulled the video that proved that Frank didn't give false alibi statement. Luckily, the video showed Buffy checking in the Golden Nugget at the same moment that mugging happened in Carroll Gardens.

He stated that he is a very lucky man because bills from the casino showed that he was actually there when the robbery occurred. Although he didn't win at the gaming tables, playing poker and roulette, his trip to Atlantic City and the casino saved him from a likely jail time.

After he proved that he wasn't the attacker, Frank got upset because the police didn't do their job right. He claimed that the police refused to understand the fact that it was impossible to rob someone in Brooklyn when you were in Atlantic City.

26-year old man also mentioned they only decided to check his alibi because they saw reporters and photographers outside the station. Frank’s lawyer stated that the police didn't want to be described as lazy and unprofessional in New York Post so they final decided to do their job.

The trip to Atlantic City has certainly paid off for the young man who was very close to being locked up for something he didn’t do.
