After re-launching two years ago to quite a bit of fanfare that included the chance to win a trip to the famed Playboy Mansion in California, Playboy Poker has announced that it will be closing its virtual doors.

A year after hosting online poker action, Playboy Poker added online casino games to its offerings. Along with folding its cards, the site's dice will stop rolling and the roulette wheel will no longer spin.

Players are met with the following message when visiting the website:

"Attention - Playboy Poker is in the process of surrendering its gaming license, all players are advised to withdraw their funds from the site at their earliest convenience. Thank you."

According to a customer support representative, Playboy Poker will cease operations beginning Monday, July 27. Players should make every effort to withdraw their funds by that time, but indications are that payouts will continue beyond that date.

The Playboy brand is one of the most recognizable worldwide - the iconic silhouetted rabbit sporting a bow tie. But that popularity apparently didn't find its way over to the site's online poker tables.

Playboy Poker operated as a skin on the Ongame Network. The site did not accept U.S. players following its re-launch.
