Weekly High Stakes Report - Scarce Action

With WSOP in full swing, online high stakes tables have finally experienced the expected loss of traffic during the past couple of weeks, with only a few days with any play that was picked up by the HighStakesDB.

Sunday action saw some of the names we don't get to see as often lately. In fact, the biggest winner for the third week of June was Sami 'Lrzlsk' Kelopuro who took away $172k from the tables. Kelopuro, the Finnish pro who hasn't been very active lately, seems to be back in action in full swing. He's been posting some nice, consistent results in PokerStars PLO games, resulting in a very decent week.

Another name that hasn't been super active, Australian pro David 'Delder182' Eldar, has been putting in some hands in June and his take for the third week of June was just short of $100k, as he banked about $95k.

Apart from Kelopuro's run in the week preceding this one, not much has happened, as the only big day during the past seven days period was Wednesday. It was 'Ravenswood13' who managed to come out with a six-figure profit of $129,000. He was the only one who crossed the 6-figure mark, as the second biggest winner for the day, 'XiaoXiao', banked only $42k.

As for 'Ravens', majority of his profit came from a two-hour PLO session against Ilari 'Ilari_FIN' Sahamies, while the small part was also derived from the games against ski legend Petter Northug aka 'NorthugJr'.

With the majority of high stakes players having their attention focused on Las Vegas and World Series of Poker at the moment, it will probably take another week or two before the games pick up the pace again, but there is no cause for concern. This is the pattern that has been present for years now and the games after the WSOP are usually action-filled, as longer break from the games makes players itching to get involved in some big pots and revoke the memories!
