After several very quiet weeks at the high stakes tables, action is finally starting to pick up again. With World Series of Poker on a long pause until November, it will be pretty much back to business as usual for most players, including the usual nosebleeds suspects.

Last Monday, HighStakesDB finally reported a six figure winner at the tables and his name is Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby. All of his profit came from a short match against Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom, as the pair took it to the 2-7 Triple Draw tables for about 40 minutes. After fewer than a hundred hands, 'thecortster' was $104,000 better off.

Although things did not start great for Blom last week, he started picking up some traction close to the weekend and on Thursday he was the one topping the winners' leaderboard, with a profit of $272k.

Blom's winnings came from a selection of games on PokerStars, with $49k coming from the 2-7 TD match with 'thecortster' and about $206,000 from a heads-up clash with 'JesusLebtNot' (aka Kagome Kagome on Full Tilt).

'Isildur1' was the only big winner, as 'avd7a' took the second place on the leaderboard, netting a profit of $48k.

Viktor's hot streak continued into Friday as well as he managed to end the day with a huge profit of $691k. During about eight hours at the tables, 'Isildur1' switched between PLO and 2-7 TD action against couple of opponents, with things mostly going his way.

The most significant portion of his profit came from a single opponent, however, as he was able to take 'Doorbread' for more than $500k across several sessions. The rest of the winnings came from a session against Seb 'taktloss47' Ruthenberg which actually came first and announced a big day for the Swedish pro.

The only other six-figure winner was 'WithColor' who netted $121k, while 'thecortster' managed to end the day with a profit of $75k.

Saturday marked tides shifting for Blom, however, as once again he got entangled with Kibler-Melby and at the end of that confrontation, 'thecortster' boosted his bankroll with $300,000. Combination of running hot and playing well was too much for the Swede, who simply couldn't find the way to turn the things around against his nemesis. Viktor has been on a losing end of these confrontations for quite a while now and he is still waiting for his opportunity to take revenge.

Back and swinging

Although it wasn't super active week, in comparison to recent weeks, past seven days offered a decent amount of fun for all the railbirds out there, with big pots and the unavoidable huge swings.

Viktor Blom was looking good for a weekly profit of seven figures at one point, but things didn't quite work out for the Swede that much towards the end of the week. He was still able to book a profit of $215k across two sites.

Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby had a great week, mostly courtesy of 'Isildur1'. With what he took off Viktor and some other winning sessions, Kibler-Melby ended the week with a profit of $480,000.

German pro Sebastian 'taktloss47' Ruthenberg found himself on the other side of the red line, netting a loss to the tune of $270k. 'JesusLebtNot' did not fare much better either, as he finished the week $217k in the red.

With WSOP behind us, hopefully the action will continue on the weekly basis and there will be plenty of action to report on in the coming weeks.
