When it comes to online high stakes action, last week was without any doubt marked by the Swedish phenom Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom, who was not just omnipresent at the tables, but was also on quite a heater, resulting in some serious profit for the Swede.
Blom's winning streak started on Tuesday, when he topped the winners' leaderboard by banking the profit of $208k. Isildur1 took his battle to the PokerStars, where he made more than half of his profit playing 2-7 TD agains Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby. The rest came primarily from the 8-game tables, with small contribution from PLO games as well.
With a quiet day in between, the action picked up on Thursday again and once again, Blom was a dominant force, with the profit of $360k as tracked by the HighStakesDB, together with approximately $250k from early morning FLO8 sessions, which were not tracked properly.
'Kagome Kagome' was the only other player with a six-figure profit, as the German pro made a profit of $137,000 from some 2-7 TD play against his compatriot 'SanIker'. 'thecortster' and 'JasonMercier' also had profitable day with $58k and $44k respectively.
Thursday became Friday and although the date had changed, nothing changed for Blom, who continued crushing opposition at the tables on both PokerStars and Full Tilt. His profit on Stars amounted to $364k where he dominated FLO8 tables, playing against the like of Patrik 'Fake Love888' Antonius, Jason Mercier Kyle 'KPR16' Ray and others.
As for Full Tilt, 'Isildur1' found a temporary home at 2-7 TD tables, battling against Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby and 'Kagome Kagome', ending his efforts there with another $212k to his name, for a grand total of almost $577,000. Apart from Blom, the only notable winners were 'NoelHayes' with $90k profit and Phil 'Polarizing' Ivey, who banked $50,500.
Saturday was the only action day last week not dominated by Viktor, as he took a (semi) break from the tables. His place at the top of the score sheet was taken over by the German pro 'JesusLebtNOT' (better known as 'Kagome Kagome' from PS). He took his battle to the 2-7 TD tables, where he met the likes of Alex Luneau, Phil Ivey and 'RaulGonzales' who ended up contributing the most to German's $197k profit.
The only other six-figure winner for the day was David 'Deldar182' Eldar. He got involved in some heads up action against ' yiyi01' and after a few hours of play, Eldar ended up banking $157,000.
How much did 'Isildur1' win?
The above question is what's on everybody's mind most likely, so to get that out of the way - the Swede finished the week with the profit above $1,000,000 across the sites ($1.06MM more exactly), which is actually a very nice comeback for Blom and he just needs a few more weeks like that to get his lifetime graph back in black.
David 'Deldar182' Eldar had a nice seven day span as well, banking $202,000. German player 'Kagome Kagome' (and, apparently, his alter ego on PokerStars 'JesusLebtNOT') finished the week with the profit of $165k.
Phil Ivey had a winning week as well, finishing with $70k to the good across both sites. Sam 'tr1cky7' Trickett got in the mix last week as well, playing some 600 hands on PokerStars and banking $50,000.
On the other sides of the spectrum, Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby didn't have too much fun at the tables, losing just shy of $390k at the tables. German pro 'SanIker' finished in the read as well, with the loss of $148,000.
PokerStars Team Pro Jason Mercier found himself under the profit line as well, leaving just shy of $80,000 at the tables.
