Brian Lemke Claims Top Spot in Borgata Spring Poker ME

Brian Lemke managed to beat a field of 447 players who entered 2015 Borgata Spring Poker Open Main Event. Pennsylvania’s poker pro has claimed the title as well as $276,949 first place prize after beating Andy Spears in the heads-up duel.

When final table action started, Joe Kuether, known as the “Luckbox”, was probably the most dangerous opponent, with has nearly $4m in total live earnings. At the $25,000 PCA High Roller event this year he finished second and won $1,050,000. However Brian eliminated him in 6th place after Joe moved all-in preflop with K-7. Brian made a call with A-Q so Kuether took home $51,489 for sixth place. Kuether also ranked 22nd in the 2014 Poker Player of the year rankings.

Kuether was not the only dangerous opponent at final table. Benjamin Zamani finished fourth in the PCA Main Event back in 2010, and won $1m prize. Before Brian knocked out Zamani from the competition in fourth place, Zamani did the same to Justin Zaki.

Zaki who has experience at WPT and WSOP final tables took home $61.787 for fifth place.

Final table came down to Andy Spears and Brian Lemke after Andy Spears eliminated James Gilbert in third place. Even though Andy and Brian had deep stacks, the heads-up action ended after just two hands.

Andy Spears who now has 546,426 in total live earnings took home $159,886 second place prize.

Brian Lemke, winner of the 2015 Borgata Spring Poker Open, now has five first place finishes in his poker career. He already claimed two trophies at Borgata, one in the 2012 Borgata Spring Poker Open and the other one in the 2013 Borgata Winter Poker Open.

Lemke has also won 2009 WSOP $5k No Limit Hold’em event and claimed prize of $692,690. Back in 2009, final table included one of the best poker players in the world, Fabian Quoss, who finished second.

After claiming this title, Lemke has more than $1.5m in total live earnings.
