Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) returns this year to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, but with some changes in the tournament structure. SHRPO 2015 will take place from July 30 to August 19.

Larry Frank, General Manager of Poker Operations for Seminole Gaming, has announced that this year’s SHRPO will elevate poker experience to new level.

The $5,250 buy-in Main Event with guaranteed $5m prize pool will take place on August 18 and no re-entries will be allowed. In 2013 SHRPO announced that the main event is going to be $5,300 with $10m guaranteed prize pool and reentries. The event turned out to be a major success, as the total number of entries climbed to 2,384, crushing the guarantee and pushing the prize pool to $11.9 million. However, contrary to the expectations, 2014 saw a 37% decrease, creating an overlay of about $2.5 million.

However 2015 SHRPO Championship is expected to attract many of the world’s best poker players despite of the lower guarantee.

SHRPO’s action will be streamed on CBS Sports Network and final table of the Main Event will be streamed on Tuesday, August 18th along with final tables of three additional No Limit Hold’em events which means that 4 tables will be played simultaneously.

It was also announced that Phil Hellmuth will play the role of the host and provide commentary for these final tables.

Televised on CBS Sports Network and live streamed online, four final tables will certainly heighten the energy and excitement of this year’s series. The broadcast of the final tables will be aired in early 2016.

In 2014, Dan Colman was the last player standing at the end of the Seminole Hard Poker Open. It took nearly a week to crown the champion and at the end Colman took home $1,146,710 alongside the SHRPO Championship title.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is currently very popular venue in poker community and it's not just because it hosts SHRPO. This week casino was also a host to WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown that attracted nearly 1,500 players.

At the end of that tournament, Griffin Paul was the one who took home $1m after outlasting quite a respectable field.
