Online poker's high rollers can go ahead and circle September 20, 2015 on their calendars and make sure that their PokerStars account balances are at least $51,000.

That's the buy-in for the Super High Roller of the 2015 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), shattering the previous online buy-in record of $25,000 set numerous times previously. The record-breaking event will be played as NLHE 8-Max and will get underway at 12:30 ET on Sunday, Sept 20.

Players who enter the event will find themselves seated among PokerStars Team Pros Daniel Negreanu and Jason Mercier. Negreanu has already turned the page on his disappointing 11th place bust in the WSOP Main Event and appears ready to make the transition to the online Super High Roller two months from now.

“Over the last few years we have seen the emergence of Super High Roller events at live events across the globe,” KidPoker said. “I think it only makes sense that the world’s largest poker site is also the host of the largest buy-in online poker tournament ever. I'm excited to test my skills against the best of the best, online.“

The WCOOP is celebrating its 14th year and has grown considerably since humble beginnings in 2002 when the combined WCOOP events paid out $730,000 in prize money. The 13th running last year saw prize pools total $61,934,886.

Also stoked about the $51K Super High Roller is Mercier, whose resume includes two WCOOP and four SCOOP titles. “I'm really excited about playing in the biggest buy-in online tournament ever," he said. "I can't wait!"

Unfortunately, Mercier will have to wait until fall for that tournament. But to ease his anxiety, he can log onto PokerStars today for the MicroMillions 11 that features 100 events over 11 days from July 16-26 and will pay out a guaranteed $5 million.
