T.J. Martell foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS research has announced the repeat of the tournament which keeps Chad Brown’s memory alive. The tournament will be hosted by Maria Ho and all proceeds from the tournament will help to raise funds for research by T.J. Martell’s Sacroma Research Projects. The research includes clinical trials and new drugs' discoveries.

On July 2nd 2014 the world said goodbye to poker icon Chad Brown after he lost a three-year battle with rare variation of stomach cancer. His positive attitude and kindness have touched lives of numerous people and he is remembered as great man, friend and a brilliant poker player.

Last year Chad unfortunately didn’t have an opportunity to enjoy 2014 World Series of Poker as he had hoped due to his condition. Even though he never won a WSOP title, tournament officials awarded Chad with a honorary gold bracelet shortly before his passing. Chad wasn't able to attend the most emotional bracelet ceremony in the history of WSOP, as he was receiving hospice care in New York.

The event that keeps Chad’s memory alive is hosted by Maria Ho and it will be held on July 2nd at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Maria said that this annual event is

The 2nd annual Chad Brown Memorial starts at 7 p.m. and there is $20,000 guaranteed in prizes. While raising funds for good cause players will also have an opportunity to win many prizes such as 2016 PCA Main Event seat, WPT seat, HPT seat and more.

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will promote the campaign named ‘Suck out Sarcoma’ during its Phamous Poker Series Goliath from May 31- July 5. The Planet Hollywood’s campaign encourages tournament players to donate 1% of their winnings to T.J. Martell Foundation.

Last year in July, after one of the legends in the poker community had passed away, his family and friends gathered at Binion’s in Downtown Las Vegas to celebrate his life and play a charity poker tournament in his honor. On this occasion, players raised $71,000 in Chad’s name for the battle against cancer.

Many people are grateful that Chad had been part of their lives as he always cared deeply for others despite his competitive nature at the tables.
