It's been announced, it's been awaited and now it's finally here. PokerStars and Monte-Carlo Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final has kicked off, with France Poker Series Main Event starting today and poker festivities continuing until May 8, when the final table of the EPT Main Event is scheduled to take place.

Having started at noon today and with five 45-minute levels of late registration, €1,100 FPS Main Event has already attracted more than 200 players. Some familiar faces in the crowd include those of Kevin MacPhee, Josh Prager and Simon Deadman. The players will play out twelve levels today, before retiring to gather their strength for the Day 2.

Next important event is, without a doubt, €100k Super High Roller, an EPT event that traditionally attracts some of the best and most recognized players in the industry. Some of those who have already confirmed their participation are Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu and Isaac Haxton. Rubbing shoulders with them will also be Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel and the recent WPT Player of the Year winner Anthony Zinno.

Last year, the Super High Roller gathered total of 62 entries, 50 unique ones and twelve reentries, generating a prize pool just over €6 million. Winner, Dan Colman, took home €1.5 for outlasting a small, but formidable field. It is quite possible that we will see even bigger number of entries this year. EPTLive coverage will start tomorrow, with the Day 1 of the SHR and will continue until the Main Event winner is found.

Invitational Poker for Pink charity tournament starts on May 2. The event is looking to gather a substantial amount for breast cancer charity Pink Ribbon Monaco. Poker stars and celebrities from different walks of public life will all come together in this one, united for a good cause.

We will be keeping tabs of the developments in Monte Carlo and bring you all the relevant news about winners, runner-ups and bubble boys until the biggest winner is crowned on May 8, when EPT11 Grand Final will find its champion.
