Weekly High Stakes Report â âIsildur1â Stuck $500k, Kostritsynâs Domination Continues

As a general rule, when there is a big live tournament, the action subsides at the online high stakes tables. However, during the past week, despite the fact that European Poker Tour festivities were taking place in Malta, there was plenty of action to keep us all entertained.
Sunday saw some big action, according to HighStakesDB, and the two main protagonists were Viktor âIsildur1â Blom and Kyle âKPR16â Ray. Although Blom finished in the black the previous day, things started to go wrong for the Swede and the bad run (and maybe bad game selection?) culminated on Sunday.
âIsildur1â sat âKPR16â at the $2k/$4k FLO tables and after about 900 hands of play Blom was stuck for $277k. The American Omaha specialist was once again triumphant, adding some more distance on their personal score sheet.
That was the biggest but not the only game in town. Alex âjoisoâ Kostritsyn had a nice day that ended with the profit of about $86k, the majority of which came, once again, from âIsildur1,' whose Sunday, itâs safe to say, wasnât a very pleasant one. Phil âMrSweets28â Galfond made up some of his earlier losses, adding $78,000 to his roll after a successful PLO session against âbcvernonâ on PokerStars.
Monday was a very exciting day for Galfond who, despite losing big to Viktor Blom, still ended the day down only about $50k. Galfond came into the match with the Swede carrying over the profit from the successful session over at PokerStars, which brought him $130k. Reportedly, Gus âbroksiâ Hansen was at the 2-7 tables, together with the likes of âSamRostanâ and Alex Luneau, and some of their money found its way to Galfondâs pockets.
The Full Tilt session, however, did not go as well for âOMGClayAiken.â âIsildur1â sat him at the 2-7 tables and after 650 hands of play, the Swede was up a hefty sum of $184k, making him the biggest winner of the day.
The biggest winner on Tuesday came from PokerStars and his name is not one that we are that used to seeing in these reports. A player going under the alias âNoelHayesâ ended the day $131k to the good after holding his own against the likes of Phil Galfond, âSamRostanâ and âTrueteller.' Alex âjoisoâ Kostritsyn and âTruetellerâ rounded up the top three with profits of $89k and $62k, respectively.
While other players take breaks away from the tables, Blom seems to always be around. He was once again the main catalyst of action on Wednesday when he sat Ben âBttech86â Tollerene for some PLO fun on Full Tilt.
It wasnât a long match, but it was an extremely profitable one for âBttech86,â who rid Blom of $109,000. Add to that another $36k coming from the PokerStars tables (about 18k of which also came from playing the Swede) and Tollereneâs total profit rounded up nicely at $145k. There were no other six-figure winners for the day.
The last of the big winners for this report are Alex âjoisoâ Kostritsyn and Cort âthecortsterâ KiblerâMelby. The Russian crossed the six-figure mark, banking $110k after a very long day at the PokerStars tables. He played a variety of different games and opponents, with his biggest profit coming from the 8-game tables.
As for âthecortster,' his $98,500 profit came from one single opponent and it was, you guessed it, Viktor âIsildur1â Blom. Playing at the 2-7 TD tables at Full Tilt, the Swede found himself once again on the losing end, which pretty much sums up his past week.
Third on the winnersâ leaderboard was Mikael âChaoRen160â Thuritz, who banked $64k after a successful day at the tables.

One pretty constant theme in these high stakes reports seems to be AlexKostritsyn winning. This week was no exception as the Russian once again topped the winnersâ leaderboard with a profit of $323k spread across the sites, although he was primarily found at PokerStars, where he plays as âjoiso.'
Kyle âKPR16â Ray did not play much last week and was happy with what he took off âIsildur1â early during the week, granting him a profit of $277k for the seven-day period. Not far behind was Alex Luneau, the Frenchman playing as âBiatchPeopleâ on PokerStars and âAlexonmoonâ on Full Tilt. His combined profit amounted to $270,000.
Mikael âChaoRen160â Thuritz wasnât topping the winnersâ leaderboards last week, but a slow and steady pace led him to the very solid six-figure profit of $209k.
Looking across the fence, you probably know whose name will be mentioned first. Things really went sideways for Viktor âIsildur1â Blom during the past seven days and the total he left at the tables amounted to just over half a million ($510,000).
Phil Galfond had some early success, but it didn't last and the high stakes pro had another rough week at the tables, dropping $280k.
Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby leaked around $130k across the sites.
German pro âTruetellerâ finished in the red zone as well, but only barely entered six-figure territory, booking a loss of $104,000.
