The Heartland Poker Tour announced that Ken Lambert Jr. has been selected to fill the role of Director of Operations, bringing with him a wealth of experience in poker room operations throughout the U.S.
Lambert has worked in casinos in some capacity since his teen years, starting out as a busboy at Binion's Horseshoe. He eventually moved on to dealing poker at Vegas World before finding his calling in managing various poker rooms and organizing poker tours.
His resume includes stints with the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker. The 52-year-old was responsible for expanding WSOP events beyond Las Vegas. Lambert's most recent gig was as poker room manager at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio.
The HPT has become a tour favorite of many players across the U.S. and is currently enjoying its 11th season. After doling out over $12 million in prize money in two dozen Main Events last year, the HPT is expected to break records again in 2015.
"Becoming part of the HPT team is one of the most exciting things I've done in my career," Lambert said.
The HPT's next tour stop will be the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The action gets underway with Event #1 on July 24, with the Main Event kicking off on July 30.
The HPT is known for airing an abundance of original poker programming, more so than other poker tours. Click here for upcoming tour information that covers America's heartland and beyond.
