Things haven’t been too bright for online poker in the US since Black Friday and everything has been moving quite slow thus far. However, if recent happenings are any indication, 2015 could be the biggest and the most important year in that regard.

Americas Cardroom (ACR) is one of the biggest operators offering online poker services to US citizens and the site experienced their biggest growth ever in 2014. According to Michael Harris, spokesperson for the room, player traffic increased dramatically month after month. The site expects this trend to continue in 2015.

The press release from ACR explained that there are multiple reasons for such growth, one of them being a very favorable loyalty program called Elite Benefits. The release stated that ACR’s rewards program is #1 in the world, giving back more than any other room. The veracity of this statement is for players to determine.

The room’s cash game leaderboard race, The Beast, is another way of giving back, and big rakers can potentially earn six-figure sums on a yearly basis. Any players raking such amounts would also become 5-Star Generals, e.g. achieve the top tier in Elite Benefits, leading to an additional $130,000 in rewards. These, combined with other bonuses, could see players earn in excess of $400,000, according to ACR’s calculations.

We've done everything we can to make Americas Cardroom the only place worth playing at in the United States in 2014. This year, we're just getting started with plans that will blow everyone's mind." Michael Harris;

Apart from the competitive rewards program, ACR is the first room to have offered an online tournament open to US players with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Although the first attempt at this did not go as planned, the tournament has been rescheduled for February and should take place in about a month (February 22nd).

This has greatly helped the room’s popularity, as many players (in particular those residing in the US) were thrilled to be able to play in such an event after a very long time. The Winning Millions event is certainly a big hit among players and the only thing that could somewhat hurt it was the initial failure, which caused considerable disappointment.

However, players are quick to forgive and forget, as long as the room promises to fix things and stay true to their promise. We will know soon enough, but if everything goes as planned this time around, ACR will certainly be gaining some more ground in player traffic in the Land of the Free.
