Americas Cardroom (ACR) is declaring the rematch after facing some severe technical difficulties during Online Super Series (OSS) IV back in December. These difficulties caused the Series to be interrupted and left many players disappointed.

After taking some time to check all the available data, ACR announced yesterday that they will be bringing back the OSS under the name OSS IV Rematch. The series will feature $2 million in guarantees across 63 different events. The one that everybody’s got their eyes on is the Main Event, scheduled for February 22nd, bringing the $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

OSS IV Rematch will start on February 13 and will culminate with the Main Event of Feburary 22nd. Winner of the flagship tournament will take home a minimum of $200,000, a very respectable sum for an online tournament. Buy-ins range from just $0.27 all the way up to $540.

Championship Leaderboard will award points to the players playing throughout the Series based on their results. Once the Series is over, top three players will be awarded $500, $300 and $200 respectively. Although not featuring a huge prize pool, the Leaderboard does offer an extra incentive for the grinders to sit down and play their hearts out.

After three wildly successful Online Super Series that paid out millions of dollars, we were disappointed to see OSS IV interrupted the way it was. So we’re declaring a rematch and adding an additional $250,00 to the prize pool.

Last time around, the Main Event generated quite an interest and it was a real disappointment when WPN was forced to cancel it and return everybody their buy-ins just as the registration was about to close. Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris stated in the yesterday’s press release that these connectivity issues have now been resolved.

Although it is uncertain what caused the issues in the first place and there were some rumors going on about deliberate DNS attacks, people from the network maintain that the players should not face these kinds of difficulties in February.

Some players may have been discouraged by what happened the last time around, but if December was any indicator, OSS IV Rematch should see quite a turnout once again. What is so special about the Series is the fact that this is by far the biggest online poker tournament series in which the USA players can compete.

If things pan out right, one person will take home a hefty prize of at least $200k on February 22nd. Hopefully there will be no interruptions or disconnects plaguing the series the next month and everybody playing will be able to focus their minds completely and only on poker.
