Max Silver Binks 2019 Irish Open High Roller for €45,130

The €2,000 buy-in High Roller of the 2019 Irish Poker Open is officially in the books and stepping up to win the championship and first place prize of €45,130 was Dublin resident Max Silver.

In winning the title - his first since last August when he claimed a victory in the EPT €10,300 High Roller in Barcelona for his largest-ever cash of €600,924 ($702,005) - Silver overcame a field of 84 entrants that included runner-up Benny Glaser (€29,565).

Glaser was second-best among 10 players who landed in the payout field, advancing to a heads-up match with Silver after Max's pocket kings held up against the big slick of Andy Black (€15,170), followed by the elimination of Patrice Brandt (€22,565) in third place.

Glaser was severely short-stacked, but did manage to double up by hitting trip treys with his Q-3 in the hole. Benny was hoping for another double up when he peeked at his starting hand of pocket eights, but Silver had him covered with a pair of jacks under the hood that managed to fade an eight on the board for the win.

The victory put Max over $4.7 million in lifetime cashes, with almost two dozen of those paydays recorded in the Emerald Isle.
