A press release issued yesterday by Full Tilt announced the launch of Full Tilt Classic ā a series of sixteen tournaments set to take place from February 15 ā 22. The company describes this online series as poker in its purest form, as all the events spanning eight days will feature a freezout format and very affordable buy-ins.
Two deep stack events will take place each day ā one No Limit Holdāem and the other offering an alternative game type. The buy-ins start as low as $0.50 on the first day, going up to $100 on the last day.
As the buy-ins increase, so will the guarantees. The first event, $0.50 NLHE on February 15th, features a $1,000 guarantee, while the $100 Main Event on February 22nd boasts a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. No Limit Holdāem events will have bigger guarantees than the āalternative games.'
Whatās offered
Apart from the NLHE events every day, the other games included in Full Tilt Classic are Fixed Limit Holdāem, Fixed Limit Omaha, 5-Card Draw, Stud Hi/Lo, 2-7 Triple Draw, Pot Limit Omaha and Razz.
Every player competing in an event during the series will also receive a ticket to a corresponding freeroll taking place the next day. Players can either receive a ticket to the Classic Holdāem Freeroll or Classic Freeroll (or both) depending on the tournaments entered the previous day.
Last longest competition
Players who satellite their way into any of the events from February 3rd onward will also be eligible for a Satellite Last Longer competition. The winners will receive a free $100 Main Event ticket.
A player who outlasts all the other satellite qualifiers in any of the events will be deemed the winner of the Last Longer competition for that event and a Main Event ticket will be issued to his account. The player must then use the ticket to manually register for the event, as the registration process is not automatic.
Full Tilt Classic looks to be an interesting tournament series to make the long winter days a little more bearable, featuring a nice range of buy-ins and different games. The festival will probably find a good response from online grinders.
