One of the longest standing and best known poker publications, BLUFF Magazine, will no longer be available in print come February. Following the latest trends in the industry, BLUFF will shift its focus fully toward online media and digital reporting.

The way our readership enjoys our content has changed and this really allows us to reach more of our target audience where the numbers show they’re reading us – via mobile devices and online."

More and more people are consuming the news via Internet, using their PCs, laptops, tablets and mobile devices, and the poker industry is no exception. Lance Bradley, Vice President of content for the magazine, explained that they will try and find a content delivery model that will appeal more to modern readers.

By transitioning to a digital-only product, BLUFF hopes it will be able to use multi-dimensional teams of their parent company, Churchill Downs Interactive, in order to offer a changed and improved product more suited to today’s climate.

BLUFF has been in print since 2004 and established itself as one of the most read poker magazines around. It continued its growth through partnerships with different major tours, like the World Series of Poker and WPT. In 2012, Churchill Downs acquired the company, hoping to take the re-emerging online poker market in the US by storm.

Since its inception, BLUFF has been about making the game of poker more accessible for players around the world. Focusing on ways to put more content in front of more poker players really is about honoring that legacy." Eddy Kleid, BLUFF President;

There is no doubt that considering the experience of the people involved and having over a decade in the industry, the transition will be successful one for BLUFF. There are certainly those who will be sorry to see the print edition go, but like every industry, the media must keep up with expectations and the desires of the majority.

The final print edition will come out in February and it will feature BLUFF Player of the Year Dan Colman. After that, the favorite magazine of many will only be available via screens on electronic devices.

Subscribers will be issued refunds in coming weeks.
