California’s ‘Mcattak’ Lifts First Big Title of Bounty Series II on Global Poker

Global Poker’s Bounty Series II took centre stage at the weekend, the first of 8 days of Knockout action that will see 44 events each in the US-facing site’s unique SC and playmoney series.

The big Sunday majors, replacing the Scrimmage and Teaser, brought out fans of the Bounty and PKO formats in force, with the evening SC75k GTD Progressive Bounty Deep being the main draw.

The SC218 buy-in tournament saw 411 entries, making the prizefund a whopping SC82,200, and that meant there would be someone walking off with a 5-figure top prize, in addition to an exclusive GP ‘skull’ trophy.

California’s have been running very well on Global Poker recently, and the Bounty Series II biggie proved to be no exception – three of the Golden State’s finest making the final table.

While ‘Jdeena21’ and ‘Mightdontgotit’ had to settle for 9th and 6th place respectively, their fellow Californian, ‘Mcattak’ made it all the way to a heads-up battle for the title.

Facing off with Missouri player, ‘Tsb253’, it was a flush in diamonds that brought ‘Mcattak’ victory, a SC11,206.96 scoop and a place in Global Poker history.

Earlier in the day, 349 players had assembled to battle it out in the Teaser replacement, this week a SC30k GTD Deepstack PKO that saw 54 players hit the money.

One player who has been on a good run of form recently is Pennsylvania’s ‘PoisonIvybabyy’, last week taking 4th place in the ‘Spring Break Edition’ for SC7,402, as well as a $1,000 Airbnb bonus. One week on and it was one place higher, a podium 3rd place finish and another SC1,947.70 in the poker kitty.

That left Virginian ‘Aceontheway’ to fight it out with Oregon’s ‘Geoffsugs’ for the title, the trophy and the bigger share of more than SC10k. The letter prevailed, and the Bounty Series II trophy will be on its way, along with SC6,576.15 for an excellent victory.

The Bounty Series II will run until next Sunday, when the finale is a double Main Event, one for the SC (Sweeps Coin) crew and one for the GC (Gold Coin) fans.
