It’s a Samson story in reverse for one of our favorite poker vloggers, CzechRaiseCharles, whose untidy growing of a scraggly beard since New Year has co-incided with some cold decks and run-bad in the casinos.

Shorn of his ‘homeless’ look, and back in his wife’s good books with the clean-cut approach, Charles heads out to start his comeback trail – but not without first sharing with us his poker chip collection! An interesting mix of home-game chips from New York mixed in with Foxwoods, Borgata, Bellagio and many other big names.

Well, ‘Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years!’ is the latest vlog’s title, so I’d best be careful – but digging yourself out of a downswing can feel pretty much the same, and for Charles it’s a much-needed boost awaiting him at the casino.

“Now to give the people what they’ve been waiting for,” says Charles as he starts his 5/5/10 PLO game, his recent favorite game, despite confessing that:

"Variance hasn’t been my friend.”

The very first hand sees a lovely flop for our hero, and knowing his opponent the check on the turn gives him enough rope to hang himself – which he duly does, despite the flush river card hitting. Up $550 in less than 5 minutes and Charles is off-and-running!

Good production values in the vlog help a lot, and Charles is happy to explain his thinking – with some good info on the screen for people like myself who are, how shall we say it, less than competent at PLO!

Another couple of huge hands get dissected by Charles en route to an excellent and much-needed $1500 win for the evening – and it’s hard to imagine anyone envying him his successes as CzechRaiseChales is one of the nicest guys out there on the vlogging circuit – well-spoken, polite, interesting and a good player to boot!

So, Czech him out for yourself and feel free to boo-hiss at the terrible pun – it was Charles who started it!
