Beer, Spewing And Tilting With CzechRaiseCharles

It’s always good to see new faces on the poker vlogging scene, and CzechRaiseCharles caught my eye with the title of his latest effort – ‘Couple dudes, some brews, and plenty of spews’ – his 5th YouTube offering in as many weeks.

The title had me a bit concerned that it would simply be a drinking session with his best buddy featuring an almighty vomitous ending, but it turns out that Charles’ pre-Christmas casino visit with his best friend Brad was focused on that perennial problem for poker players – tilt!

We often have a session or two which goes badly wrong, leaving us not only out of pocket but scratching our heads in disbelief at what has just happened, and this 15-minute offers a glimpse into just such a painful journey.

‘CzechRaiseCharles’ and Brad are playing $1/3 NLHE at the Graton Casino in Santa Rosa, California when a hand with what appears to be a ‘huge fish’ appears, Charles talking us through the unbelievable action. I’m not going to spoil it for you, obviously, but it sends our vlogging hero into a spiral of despair for the rest of his session!

Although Charles isn’t a full-time pro like Jaime Staples, Andrew Neeme or many others doing similar things - “I'm a part time poker player turned recent dad. Most my time is spent as a stay at home father. These are my poker and parenting stories!’ he explains on his YouTube channel – it’s just as enjoyable and educational at times to watch an ‘average’ player make and discuss the same kind of mistakes that you and I might make.

As ever, good production and tales away from the table help to round out what is a fine addition to the dozen or so highly-watchable poker vlogs out there at the present moment.

Anyway, with all the spewing left on the table, Charles and Brad head off for a well-earned drink at the end of his vlog – never a bad idea when you’ve just tilted the best part of $1000 away!
