D-Negs WSOP Vlog: Smack Talking Hellmuth, Matusow’s Crazy Stories and Getting Shut Down By Ivey1 year ago
The formula for Daniel Negreanu's WSOP vlogs is getting pretty settled. Updates on workouts, drive time talking heads and tournament reports. His Day 16 vlog has some pretty big names in it.
Jean-Robert Bellande’s high class alcoholism pops up, this time savouring a 23 year old Burgundy while Daniel waxed lyrical on his own, more healthy obsession with gratitude and his adorable, but very needy, pet dogs and the masseuses at the Rio.
The real highlight though is the contribution of the elusive and camera shy Phil Ivey who Daniel tries to draw out on the subject of a slightly odd Pot Limit Omaha hand.
Since the vlog covers Day 2 of Daniel’s favourite event, the $50k Players Championship, the Phil Ivey and Jean-Robert are not the only big names to show up. Mike Matusow is on hand to throw out some foul-mouthed self-deprecation on his own history of “fuck ups”.
Daniel also weighs in on the way Phil Hellmuth has priced his own action. This particular controversy has been raging for a while. In the $50k Phil was selling himself for for 1.5 when the market has priced him as 0.99 (and 1.4 for the very best players in the tournament). Naturally Daniel has some strong opinions on the subject.
