Dale Philip 'Daleroxxu' Dropped by PokerStars?

Philip was in Spain, playing in PokerStars sponsored UKIPT event in Marbella, and while there went to see the World Cup match between Holland and Spain. The game ended in one of the toughest defeats Spain national team has suffered in quite a while, as Holland celebrated an astonishing 5:1 victory.

Throughout the duration of the match, Dale ‘Daleroxxu’ Philip was cheering loudly and teasing on his Twitter.

After the match was over, heated discussion ensued, as several people were scorning Philip for what they deemed absolutely unacceptable behavior, even when cheering during the football game. His accusers were especially irritated by the fact he used a ‘two finger salute’, which can be best interpreted as f..k you, or that's at least how those present interpreted it.

Dale argued that it wasn’t his intention to insult anyone and that his behavior, while possibly impolite in some other circumstances, was perfectly acceptable during a football game. At one point during the discussion, Philip’s relationship with PokerStars was mentioned, and people were voicing their opinion that Stars would certainly not stand for this kind of behavior.

Eventually things have calmed down and everybody thought it was the end of that. However, his announcement on the Twitter came as quite a shocker.

Apart from people expressing their opinions on Twitter, a 2+2 thread appeared as well, where many were anxious to get their opinion in the mix.

This story is not over, as Dave Philips promised he would write a blog entry on the entire matter once he gets back home, explaining his side of things. PokerStars have officially remained silent on this topic so far, but perhaps they’ll come out with some kind of public statement or at least forum announcement with all the attention this matter has been getting. We will certainly be watching closely for any new developments!
