Another special tournament in memory of Dave “Devilfish” Ulliot is in the pipeline for the WPT partypoker LIVE at Dusk Till Dawn Casino. The $1 million guaranteed event will see all of the rake going towards a trust fund for his daughter Lucy and the Macmillan Cancer charity.

Dave Ulliot is a candidate for the most recognisable character in poker history. With his distinctive dress sense and acerbic wit, he drew countless people into the game who watched him perform on TV. The poker community was shocked to learn of his passing in April 2015.

Since 2016 a memorial event has been held to remember the great player, and once again, from September 30 to October 2, 2019, players will line up to compete in his memory. The $5,300 buy-in makes this a serious event and we expect plenty of star names from today’s game to attend.

The likes of Sam Trickett, Ludovic Geilich and Roberto Romanello of Team partypoker along with the chairman John Duthie should all be there. And don’t forget Dusk Till Dawn Casino owner and high-stakes player Rob Yong.

Reminiscing Sam Trickett said:

“I played a lot at DTD with Dave and we would always be talking, laughing and joking when he was on the table. I look forward to playing the Devilfish Cup as it gives another chance to look back and remind ourselves how much of a poker legend he was.”

The final word goes to another colourful character from the poker world - ElkY. Bertrand Grospelier was fortunate enough to have shared some time with the Devilfish in his younger years. He said:

“I am extremely thankful to the WPT and DTD for hosting the Devilfish Cup, giving the entire poker community the opportunity to honour one of its brightest characters, with whom I had the chance to share some time around drinks or at the table. Please join us for this event.”
