Doug Polk is seeking challengers for a new monthly heads-up challenge streamed live at The Lodge Card Club. The stakes will be around $50/$100 to $100/$200 and any player is welcome to step up to the plate.

For now, the only game on offer will be NL Hold’em, Polk’s speciality, but this is only because of its popularity. Polk actually says he would prefer to play other games but it wouldn’t bring in anywhere near as many viewers as the most popular variant.

Any Takers?

Although the stakes are high enough to exclude most players, there should still be plenty of interest.

The fans were quick to ask for Bryn Kenney and Charlie Carrel but this is unlikely to happen, even as much of a show those battles would promise. Luke Schwartz was another choice who would jump at the chance for a mixed games fight against Doug Polk. Garett Adelstein was another.

But, luckily for us, there was one man who stepped up real quickly to book his spot in the hot seat - Dan “Jungleman” Cates! Who would want to see this match?

Cates was even cheeky enough to tag Bryn Kenney and Phil Hellmuth into his tweet.

We await more news on what Polk’s shortlist looks like in the coming months.
