PokerStars, the sponsor and the part owner of the European Poker Tour came up with an idea to celebrate the rise of the European Poker Tour on its 10th anniversary by publishing a coffee-table style book. Unfortunately the book “EPT: Ten Years” is not available on open market and to the general public.
The limited edition tells the fascinating story of the tour from its humble beginning, the rapid rise and how it go to where it is today. European Poker Tour was founded by the London based English television director and professional poker player John Duthie, who collected nearly $3 million on the live tournament circuit. He transformed the world of poker when he used his knowledge of both the game and the television industry to create a tour that opens the door to stardom to anyone with a few dollars in their bank account.
EPT is not the first poker tour in the world but it is the richest and the most popular tour on the European continent. The 300 page book covers a history of the tournaments played at the most beautiful casinos and in the most beautiful cities of Europe like Vienna, Barcelona, London and Monte Carlo.
Coffee-table style book is full of interesting stories and breathe taking photography from the 10-year fascinating EPT journey.
In the space of 300 pages, the limited edition book tells the story of the tour, from its watery inception, through to its early seasons and the records that have been repeatedly broken. It also includes features on memorable champions whose stories are now forever part of the poker canon. But mostly this book celebrates the people behind the tour, the staff, the players and the fans, each of whom has helped made the EPT the success story that it is. PokerStars Blog;Unfortunately for many who would love to get their hands on this sweet rarity, the opportunities to get the book are quite limited, especially for the US citizens. All 101 EPT winners will receive their complementary copies as well as any and all future winner. For the majority of us who will probably not be able to capture this prestigious title, the alternative is to buy it from the PokerStars VIP store, although the number of the available copies will probably be quite limited.
The third and the last chance to get a copy of the book is to win it as a prize during the EPT Live broadcast from Prague, which is now also drawing to a conclusion.
