In a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit, Fedor Holz revealed that he sees Daniel Negreanu as a worthy foe in the boxing ring, as well as in a mano a mano duel over a chess board.

The German wunderkind answered a dozen questions from fans on AMA, one of which was to name a poker pro that he would like to challenge in a boxing-chess match. Holz placed DNegs on the top of his list - not as a means of revenge or to settle any old scores - but to engage in a somewhat balanced and competitive battle.

"He's more fit than I am," Holz said of his fellow GG Poker ambassador. "He would probably beat me in boxing. I think we are on a somewhat equal chess level so in both regards we could get to a rather fair set-up."
With the 2023 WSOP in full swing and the Main Event ready to get underway shortly, don't expect to find the two poker pros anywhere other than a poker table for the foreseeable future. Between them, Holz and KidPoker have cashed for more than $89 million in live tournament play.

Don't Call It A Comeback

Fedor called it quits on poker in 2016, announcing his retirement from the game. But similar to a large number of pro boxers who hung up their gloves only to unretire after spending some time on the sidelines, Holz returned to the felt in 2020.
"Sitting at home during Covid, poker online was booming," Holz stated. "The games were really, really great, traffic was booming. So that definitely brought me back."
His poker fans are happy to see Fedor back in action and equally happy that he took the time to answer their questions via a YouTube video. The Pokercode co-founder revealed his thoughts on a bunch of poker-related topics including how he moves large sums of money to enter high rollers, who he hopes to avoid at the poker table, and when he decided that poker was his calling.

To those of us who have lost our poker bankroll and have had to start over from scratch, it's reassuring to know that top pros such as Fedor were in the same boat at one time as well. Listen to Holz describe his experiences with going busto - and a whole lot more in the video below:
