We are continuing this report where we left off the last time, as couple more events are now behind us. First of all, the Event #2 has finally reached its conclusion on Sunday after numerous first flights and when it was all said and done, it failed to meet the guarantee of $200,000. In the end, 3921 players paid their buyin of $55 which, after the rake, equaled to $196,050. Not a big overlay but probably not what the room expected either. The final first day flight attracted more than a thousand players, but it was still not enough to surpass the guarantee.
553 players returned to the tables for the conclusion of the event and ponyo88 was able to claim the first place and take home $33,255. Final three players struck a deal, which ensured the third place finisher Krizko90 a prize of $27,470, significantly more than the runner up BIG OJS, who banked $22,874.
Saturday was a big day, as Event #13 with $1,050 buyin kicked off. It was able to break the guarantee but just barely, as 258 players took their virtual seats. In the end it was player aurli who came on top and walked away with $67,000 first prize. The runner up, MistheMan banked $42,570 while third place finisher Koller67 claimed $32,250.
$320 6-max Triple Chance Pot Limit Omaha tournament saw a turnout of 237 players, but not even after some of the players used their second or third chances was the tournament guarantee of $75,000 exceeded. Profiting the most from another overlay was ComptonMasta who seized the day and took home $18,375. Second place dipthrong claimed slightly over $12,000.
Event #15 was quite ambitious offering $300K guarantee for a buyin of just $129, $20 of which went towards knockouts. Total of 1,933 players was far from enough to meet the big guarantee, so those who jumped in were playing for tens of thousands in overlay. PtheProphet outlasted the rest of the field and took home the reward of $44,377. Runner up xxxCelticFCxxx finished in second but once again, due to the deal, his cash of $37,927 was considerably smaller than the $42,105 The_AfterCast took home for his third place finish.
Unlike the KO event, $320 re-entry tournament on Sunday completely shattered its $300K guarantee, as 1,644 entries created the prize pool of $493,200. Lion’s share of that pool went to the winner – Graf_Zaal who banked $78,888. Second place PokerKaiser had nothing to complain about either as he took home $69,201 while tonnythemaster got $63K richer as a result of his third place finish.
Sunday also saw the start of another multi-day tournament, $109 NLHE Event #17. Then on Monday, $530 10-Game event took place and gathered total of 148 players. It failed to meet its guarantee of $75,000 by exactly $1K and lteopepe88 claimed the victory and first place money of $20,212. BilILeDiNgUe finished second and took home $13,500.
$215 Turbo NLHE event gathered 437 players and created a nice prize pool of $87,400. CzarKassim, who has over $1 million in lifetime online MTT winnings claimed the first place and $19,228, while QwiZRnY finished runner up becoming $13,110 richer. Event #20 was the six-card Omaha tournament and it gathered 258 players. The winner, gragik, banked $12,642, while the runner up Gennadiy As took home $8,307.
Finally, we conclude this report with a fun one $104 + $5 Flipout Tournament. It gathered a great number of players, total of 828 who created a prize pool of $86,112 – more than double of $40K guaranteed! People clearly love to flip. Winner Tom1211HH became $15,582 richer and FU_15 took home $12,376 for his second place finish.
There are now fewer than ten events remaining before the end of the Series, including the Main Event starting on Sunday. Not that MTT grinders will be sitting idle for long after FTOPS is done, as WCOOP is just around the corner as well!
