The Full Tilt Claims Process is Done?

The final 6% of petitions in the Full Tilt remission process have been accounted for, putting an end to one of the most unsightly blemishes in the history of online poker.

The official claims website posted its latest update in October, but the announcement was seemingly overlooked by the poker media until recently. The oversight may have been by design, as most of us would rather that the whole Full Tilt fiasco just go away, including the board of directors who mismanaged player funds so recklessly.

In any event, the final tally comes to 97% of filed petitions paid and 3% denied. In actual dollars, over $114 million went into the pockets of more than 45,000 U.S. players via nine separate batches of payments.

To practically no one's surprise, some $45 million is left over from the $160 million originally earmarked for players. Who gets the sloppy seconds that remain after the DOJ and the administration firm of Garden City Group (GCG) dicked around with players' money? Apparently, both entities will split the cash and laugh all the way to the bank.

If you happen to be among the 3% of petitioners who were denied - which comes to roughly 1,600 players - there is still hope of receiving some cash. The GCG advised in its latest update that it "will continue to work with the Department of Justice to evaluate appeals, and any previously denied Petitions that are determined to be payable will be included in an upcoming distribution."
