Gus Hansen and Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom to Battle in Heads Up Showdown

According to press release from Full Tilt, we are up for a treat on September 14th, when two well known names of poker, Gus Hansen and Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom will square off in a Best of Three Heads-Up Showdown worth $50,000. This is not all, however, as the loser will have a choice between two unpleasant options – either recording himself singing a national anthem of the winner or play 1,000 hands of $0,05 / $0,10 Razz.

The rules of the challenge stipulate that players are going to measure up in three different games. Gus opted to go with Stud 8, ‘Isildur1’ is going with No Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, while the third game will be selected by the public vote on Full Tilt blog.

Blom has been omnipresent at the Full Tilt high stakes tables while we haven’t really heard much from Gus until recently. The ‘Great Dane’ made his latest attempts at the nosebleeds couple weeks ago and things have, so far at least, gone pretty much downhill for Hansen. If we consider that, Blom might have an upper hand on Gus, but the truth is that anything can happen in the span of just few matches.

There is some side action for the railbirds as well. Players depositing $20 into their Full Tilt account and earning 50 Full Tilt Points will be eligible to pick up their favorite and will receive a ticket to either $10K Gus Supporters Freeroll or $10K Viktor Supporters Freeroll. On top of that, players who pick the winner will get to play in the $30,000 flip freeroll on September 15th, after the winner has been determined.

In addition to this, all players who log in to observe all three matches will be entered into a draw for $635 FTOPS Main Event ticket, so there is certainly enough to keep the observers interested. But all this a side, the ultimate icing on the cake would be the video of one of these two trying to sing a national anthem. Although they will probably take an easy way out and just grind out the 1K hands - but we can always hope. And who knows, one of them could be an undiscovered singing talent?
