Poker Brat Phil Hellmuth is used to sharing a poker table with fellow legends, but they are usually poker players like himself – so having world champion boxer Chris Eubank Jr to his left and dance DJ sensation Steve Aoki on his right was a nice change for the 15-times WSOP bracelet winner…

It’s pretty obvious why Hellmuth is in Las Vegas, the 50th anniversary WSOP kicking off this week, but for Eubank Jr, the IBO super-middleweight boxing champion, Vegas has been a second home since he first followed in his famous father’s footsteps over a decade ago.

Hellmuth has already done the prizefighter routine for a previous WSOP grand entrance, but we’ll have to wait and see what this year’s effort produces – although it’s just possible he’ll go the Aoki route…

Steve Aoki, the legendary DJ, musician and producer is in town this week at the Hakkasan Las Vegas nightclub, and he enlisted Hellmuth for a bit of help with the backing vocals…

…but as someone who counts Phil Ivey among his friends, Aoki isn’t short of legends offering him poker tips.

In fact, Aoki is known for hosting his own home game on board the Holy Ship – an electronic music cruise liner that sails to the Bahamas each year for a hedonistic musical experience.

We’ve no idea who won the Aria legends showdown, but for big Phil it’s a typically high-profile way to get his WSOP 2019 off to a quick start!
