HighStakes are putting up a bumper €200,000 in guarantees for their Big Sunday one-day festival next month, after their January edition smashed through the €100k barrier

Joseph 'subiime' Cheong was among 1400 unique entries across 22 tournaments last weekend, taking down the Main Event for the second time.

Main Events and more events

With the next running of Big Sunday set for February 2nd , Cheong is likely to be chasing a hattrick of titles, and there will be three separate Main Events to have a tilt at – each with €25k guarantees.

HighStakes have also added more tournaments to the schedule, 30 events set to run throughout the day, ranging from freerolls up to a €1000 buy-in SHR

The €10k Triple Crown

There is also a €10k Triple Crown bonus up for grabs should anyone bag three wins on the day, the huge tournament ticket reward scooped by HighStakes reg used2bcool in the New Year welcome edition.

Satellites and leaderboards

As with previous Big Sundays, a chunk of the entries are expected to come from satellite qualifiers, some 80% winning their way through last time out, several running up big scores on the day.

The satellites for February 2nd events have already kicked off and can be found in the HighStakes tournament lobby here.

Others have made their way in from the two leaderboard races the site runs, The King and Jack of HighStakes TLBs.

Streaming and winning

Poker streamer Bryan Paris, playing as BOOMswitch, turned his €4300 runner-up prize in the King TLB into a string of Big Sunday successes, three podium finishes topped off by victory in the €109 buy-in Big Bounty mid event.

AbreuSan was another to turn tickets into cash, scooping the Big Bounty High tournament in which he bagged 10 heads each worth €200 to go along with his regular prizemoney.

With the January edition’s €100k GTD smashed by more than €40k, it’s likely that the February Big Sunday will again see a record turnout chasing the €200k on offer this time.
