PokerStars are continuing their expansion to the Asian market. In the press release sent out earlier today, the company has confirmed that Yuiko Matsukawa, a Japanese model and actress will be joining PokerStars Team Pro roster.
Yuiko is a 24-year old rising star from Japan who started getting recognition with numerous appearances in fashion magazine, further cementing her star status with her recent appearance in the movie 'Terrace House Closing Door'. This makes her a perfect addition to the team, as company is looking to really reinforce its presence on the Asian market, and a familiar face will go a long way in achieving this.

We look forward to working together to promote poker as an exciting, skill-based game in Japan and beyond
Earlier this year, PokerStars signed up two first Team Pro representatives from Japan, clearly announcing their intentions to make their presence know in the country and further. Eric Hoilreiser, Director of Corporate Communications for the company, stated that this latest sponsorship, as Yuiko is an "exciting celebrity who caught the poker bug and wants to share her love of the game with her fans".
Serving as a proof of her love for the game is the fact that Yuiko took part in the recently finished Macau Poker Cup in China, competing with some of the biggest names in the industry, as the event has really picked up some traction.
I was honored to participate in a major poker event as a PokerStars brand ambassador. In the beginning, I was a bit nervous, but eventually I found myself enjoying the game in a relaxed mood. I really appreciate my fans that cheered me on during the competition. Yuiko Matsukawa;Poker fans in Japan and across the globe will certainly be excited about this announcement, as it is always a pleasure to have a beautiful lady at the tables. But Matsukawa announced her plans to continue practicing and honing her skills at the tables, so don't be fooled by her youth or appearance.
As for PokerStars, this will help further affirm the brand as they continue on proven practices used in Europe and in the States prior to Black Friday. Having big names from the world of sports and entertainment industry is a formula for attracting new players to the game which is ultimately good for everyone who enjoys poker.
