Jason and Natasha Mercier are Proud Parents of the New Kid Poker2 years ago
A new poker player has arrived on the scene, coming into this world with a poker pedigree that may very well be off the charts.
Natasha Mercier delivered a baby boy a few days ago, and she and husband Jason are looking every bit the role of proud parents. According to their social media posts, the new bundle of joy is named Marco Henry Mercier and he weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs, 3 ounces.
With combined career earnings on the live tournament circuit approaching $20 million, Jason ($18,559,070) and Natasha ($1,176,415) are the most successful married poker couple the world over. A Team Pokerstars Pro, Jason is a five-time WSOP champion whose last tournament victory came six months ago when he topped a field of 116 high rollers on his home turf in Florida in the $25,500 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for first place prize money of $794,600.
A pregnant Natasha recorded seven min-cashes at the WSOP this summer, including the $10K Main Event where 803rd place was good for $17,243. She just missed winning a WSOP championship two years ago, finishing runner-up to Benjamin Zamani in a $1,500 buy-in event for $284,911.
Marco Mercier will no doubt find himself immersed in poker lingo and talks of poker strategy in the Mercier household as he grows up, and odds are good that he will know that a flush beats a straight before he can recite his ABCs. At his first show and tell, Marco's kindergarten classmates may get their first look at a WSOP gold bracelet.
PokerTube extends hearty congratulations to Jason and Natasha Mercier on the birth of Marco! With the genes of a poker champion, coupled with loving parents, Marco is one lucky boy.
