A $600 buy-in at the Wynn drew 574 entrants and pushed the $250K guaranteed prize pool past $300,000.
One of those entrants was Jeff 'Boski' Sluzinski, the poker vlogger with a soft spot for boxers who often reminds his viewers to send a few bucks to Las Vegas Boxer Rescue if they can spare the cash. That non-profit foundation may see a donation from Jeff after he landed at another Wynn final table and took home $11,412.
Mano a Mano
While the dogs may get some kindness from Sluzinski, his opponents at the tournament tables are not shown the same mercy. One player who was "going out of his way to three-bet and play pots" with Boski learned that the hard way.
That opponent three-bet shoved as a 17% underdog after missing on the flop while Sluzinski hit top pair. The board ran out, adding 855K in chips to Jeff's stack, which was enough to make him the chip leader with 35 players remaining.
The eliminated player, who was well aware of Sluzinski's vlog and his aggressive style of play, had previously induced Sluzinski to fold following a three-bet and perhaps tried to push his luck once too often. The result was a min-cash of slightly less than $2,000 for the vlog follower.
Free Hand Histories
That begs the question as to whether vloggers such as Boski are giving away too much information about their game and becoming disadvantaged by spreading content on YouTube for all the world to see. Jeff responded to such a question from a fan:
"That is hard to quantify. People I have never met come up to me every MTT and say 'love the Vlog.' I haven't noticed many play much differently from watching, but who knows. They just assume that I am aggressive. Unsure if they make the proper adjustments."
Sluzinski used his huge stack as ammunition the rest of the way, good for a 6th place finish and $11K payday. He was KO'd while in the small blind after pushing his remaining 880K chips all-in, getting called and out-kicked by the smallest of margins when the board failed to improve either player's starting hand.
