Online PLO crusher Fernando ‘JNandez87’ Habegger was publicly accused of not paying his debts yesterday, but it certainly wasn’t a traditional poker dispute per se – the financial fallout involving hand-knitted scarves with JNandez logos on them!

The frankly quite ridiculous tale is unfolding on the 2+2 forum, where a disgruntled former colleague of online PLO guru ‘Nandez’ posted that:

“2 Months ago me and 2 other members of the JNP team resigned from the company,” adding that: “Before we left I had made a deal with JNandez that my mom would hand knit scarfs for him that he would sell as merchandise”.

‘Horseofhell’, added:

“It has been over a month now and I have tried reaching out to both JNandez, and his sidekick Orestto multiple times and I have simply been ignored”.

Well, work is work and deserves to be paid for, and many replies have told Nandez to ‘pay zat man (or his mum at least) his money’. Others, however, including Doug Polk and Habegger himself have got involved in the ‘great 2018 scarf controversy’

“I've told Filip I will pay for the scarf when I get them”, wrote Nandez/Habegger. “Unfortunately I can't trust him anymore and will therefore not send the money before I got the scarfs”.

Trust, it seems, works both ways and has other interested parties, Doug Polk weighing in with:

“Fernando has had several instances of unethical behaviour and I would strongly advise against working with him in any capacity.”

Polk and ‘Nandez’ have a lot of previous, and fairly recently too, this year seeing them part ways as I wrote in January.

“In a surprise announcement, top online pro and PLO coach Fernando ‘JNandez87’ Habegger has left Upswing Poker, taking to YouTube to explain to fans and students how he was “unexpectedly kicked out” of the private Facebook group where members share insights, strategies and organise tuition - only for Doug Polk to later accuse him of planning to steal his customers.

Of the scarf fallout, Habegger stated yesterday:

“PS: They didn't resign, I ended the relationship and for good reason,” but Filip ‘HorseofHell’ hit back.

Agreeing with Polk’s ‘unethical behaviour’ comment:

“I agree with this statement. And that is coming from someone that was working very close to him for close to a year. There are many more instances that haven’t seen the light of day either”.

The good news in the scarf saga is that a friend has offered to buy the entire 52 scarf shipment, so at least Filip’s mum will be happy.
