Justin Lapka Pulled up for Unethical Behaviour at WSOP Circuit in Las Vegas
5 years ago05 Dec
Twitter storm in a teacup or a sad indictment of poker and our everyday world? Thatās the question being asked after Justin Lapka was pulled up by fellow WSOP Circuit player Shawn Daniels for not immediately returning 5000 extra chips he was given by mistake.
Lapka, a TwitchTV streamer whose Twitter bio states āTwitch + poker = Living the dream one day at time!!ā got off to a dream start in the $600 buy-in Double Stack Circuit event at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas when he was given 45k in chips instead of the 40k he should have received.
Instead of āfessing upā, Lapka kept quiet about his little windfall, and even defended his actions by telling Daniels āitās just businessā, apparently among other choice wordsā¦
Minnesota pro Lapka later publicly apologised on Twitter for his actions, a lengthy post explaining that he failed to fully understand:
āā¦how my decisions may affect other people or the poker community at largeā.
āI realise right here and now that my response to othersā¦ was full of BS and that I was not taking responsibility for my actions in doing something that was inherently wrong,ā Lapka wrote.
The incident has rightly received a lot of attention, with people coming out on both sides of the argument, and in favour of or against Lapka himselfā¦
Shawn Daniels, however, has been the target of thinly-veiled threats for his outing of Lapkaā¦
ā¦and PokerTube will follow the story closely given the recent spate of poker pro misbehaviour which includes William Kassouf and his recent debacle.
