He is one of the highest-paid entertainers in the world and this week comedian Kevin Hart is using some of his hard-earned cash to play the $100K Super-High Roller in the Bahamas, joking (maybe) that he will only fire a maximum 22 bullets!

With $87.5 million in earnings last year from his series of stadium stand-up What Now? shows and several hit movies including ‘Get Hard’ and the currently filming re-make of ‘Jumanji’, Hart can certainly afford to indulge his love of poker, and the first of the new PokerStars Championship SHR is as good a place as any to test his mettle at the tables.

It wouldn’t be an easy task for the 37-year old Pennsylvanian, however, with the likes of Jason Mercier, Joe McKeehen and Steve O’Dwyer among the 39 entrants. And so it proved as the comedian bust out on the final level of day 1.

He was in good company when he fired his second bullet though, with Daniel Negreanu also stumping up a second $100K and Bill Perkins already onto his 3rd buy-in of the day!

Negreanu was quick to secure Hart the actor in a cameo role for his YouTube vlog, describing Hart as “really focused".

"He came here to win, he didn’t come here to screw around!”

Winning such an event against the highest-quality field seen for a while is probably beyond the Hollywood funnyman of course, but to many the fact that he loves the game and increases its profile can only be a good thing for poker.

Despite being ‘really focused’, Hart found time to show he was enjoying himself in among the Bahamas big boys, tweeting…

The day one chipleader and the man everyone including Hart is looking to catch is Nick Petrangelo, out in front with 860,000 chips and – according to Negreanu – the most aggressive player at his table.

Day two resumes tomorrow and if Hart somehow finds enough bullets to take down the $million top prize we’ll be sure to let you know!
