Manz Leads Missing Tom Dwan Search

It’s been a running joke (or theme he might claim  himself) since Pete Manzinellireturned to the poker world with his unique take on the world of podcast interviews, but now the mercurial ‘Manz’ is taking his ‘search for Tom Dwan’ more seriously - enlisting the public and rather nifty pinboard to the cause!

His previous podcasts, with the likes of Jason Mo and PokerTube’s own CEO Jaime Nevin for example, have all included the question as to ‘Durrrr’s’ whereabouts, our man Manz keen to track down his “best friend and protégé” who has been somewhat ‘missing in action’ for the last few years.

Triads and timelines of sightings make their way onto his search pinboard, an old pic of Dwan himself the centerpiece, as Pete turns detective. Of course Dwan hasn’t been completely hidden since he left for the Far Eastern delights of Macau and the nosebleed games and adventures which awaited him, but questions still remain about the most-feared and fearless of the high-stakes king of poker.

Where is he? Who is staking him? Is he a free man? Or in hock to the gambling overlords of the East? Rumours abound, of course, but until Manz sees him again face-to-face – or “Manz to Manz” as our funny guy in the nifty PokerTube t-shirt puts it, he won’t rest.

He hasn’t gone as far yet as to put ‘Durrrr’s’ face on a milk carton – which would be tasteless, Manz, if you’re reading this! – but the ‘Missing’ posters he hands out on the streets, coupled with the music and deadpan delivery of his latest little snippet of vlogging, provide an amusing interlude in one of poker’s greatest mysteries.

Dwan had it all, then lost most of it (or should have) including a chunk of his reputation with the ‘Durrrr Challenge’, so it’s safe to say that Manz won’t be giving up until his questions are answered and Dwan reappears, my guess being for an exclusive interview – although Manz stops short of admitting that’s his real goal!

So, what’s next for Manz in the search for Tom Dwan? A ticket to Macau and a Raymond Chandler novel to while away the hours on the long trip? One thing’s for sure – it’ll be amusing to watch, but if this vlog is anything to go by, Sherlock Holmes might still have a job for a while to come!
