Michael Rossi Imitates Chris Moneymaker's Satellite to Main Event Success Two Decades on

As we arrive at the 20 year anniversary of Chris Moneymaker’s incredible success at the World Series of Poker, another man has achieved almost the same feat at Moneymaker’s very own series.

Chris Moneymaker turned an $86 satellite into a WSOP Main Event victory and now Michael Rossi has turned a $90 ACR satellite into a huge win in the Moneymaker Tour Main Event for $134,265.

Rossi told how he had busted out of the event he was playing on ACR and thought he would jump into the $90 satellite to see if his luck would change. 25 seats to the $2,500 Moneymaker Tour​​ Main Event​ were up for grabs and Rossi was one of the lucky recipiants.

His luck did indeed change and after sealing the deal in the big one, Phil Nagy handed Rossi a $10,000 WS​​OP Main Event​​ ticket and a​​ $100,000 Trit​​on London package​.

Speaking to Poker.org after his win, Rossi said:

“I had some rakeback in my ACR account. I decided to cash it in and enter the satellite. I won it. I won one of the seats on one bullet. My buddy told me, ‘You’re literally living the dream of the poker community. ​​I have a small​​ crew of family​​ and friends that​​ support me. Getting​​ into the Main​​ Event is incredible​​. I was planning​​ on getting into​​ it at some point​​, to try to satellite in if I could. To get in directly–and the Triton package–sign me up!"

Moneymaker Tour Manager Tony Burns was also ecstatic about the result.
