New Year Kicks Off with PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

For a while now, the Caribbean Adventure has been a tournament that sets a tone for the year ahead. 2015 will be no different, as PokerStars is back with one of the biggest poker festivals around, with a couple of novelties, just to spice the things up.

In just a few hours, cards will fly in the air, marking the start of the 2015 PCA and a week of exciting poker action that is ahead of us. According to the press release from the PokerStars, more than 400 players have already signed up to play and this number will certainly grow much bigger as the starting hour comes closer.

Number of exciting events will guarantee there is no lack of action for recreational players and professionals alike. From the first ever $3k LAPT Bahamas Main Event to the $100k Super High Roller, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Main Event, featuring the buy in of $10,000, is always the big one and there is no reason for this year to be any different.

One of the mentioned novelties is the introduction of the new Double Bubble format in some of the side events. This format is targeted primarily at the amateur players as it aims to guarantee more payouts and makes sure as many people as possible walk away with at least something to show for their efforts.

PokerTube coverage

For our PokerTube audience, there is a special surprise, as our team will be right on the spot, bringing you the high quality coverage and interviews with some of the biggest names on the circuit. Rikard, Laura and Richard will make sure you get the perspective on the things through the eyes of the players themselves. Big wins, unlucky bubbles and mandatory bad beats brought to you and explained by those who experienced them.

If you are looking for great poker action this time of year, the Caribbean is the place to be and since most of us (sadly) cannot get there, this is the next best thing, so stay tuned!

Stars & qualifiers

As it is always the case with big poker tournaments, we will see many big names in the mix, including Team PokerStars players Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Selbst and Jason Mercier; but apart from poker celebrities, many well known names from the other walks of life will be there too.

Sergio Garcia, one of the best golfers around, will try his skills on the green felt, together with UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz and Seinfeld star Jason Alexander. Then there are the 'businessmen' like Bill Perkins, Paul Newey andDan Shak.

Of course, there will be many of those who earned their seats through PokerStars online qualifiers and who will get a chance to enjoy this really special experience. Spending several days at an amazing location, playing with the best players in the world and competing for a huge prize is quite hard to beat.

Things will kick off today, with the $100k Super High Roller event and this one will see at least 40 players battle it out for their share of multi-million prize pool.

Once again, we will keep you in the loop as the things go down and make sure you get to enjoy the experience almost as if you were there.
